Right Wing - Top Skins Cleco'ed

November 11, 2020 3.0 hours Wings Building Jeremy

Final size drilled all top rib flanges then deburred. Deburred, corteced and installed top skin L-angles. Clecoed top rear skins in place. Clecoed trailing edge in place. Wrapped I/B and O/B leading edges around the nose ribs and clecoed.

Where the two leading edge skins overlap the pre-drilled holes did not align. We installed the O/B leading edge skin first, then the I/B which was incorrect. Thus, the I/B skin is wrapping around the O/B and it has a larger distance to travel and the O/B skin has a shorter distance to travel. Therefore, the holes did not align.

This halted progress as I contemplate how to fix this. I really do not wish to drill out the rivets as the nose ribs are flimsy and easy to elongate and it would also require drilling out the rivets through the spar. This not only doesn’t sound fun, but I would worry about elongating some very important rivet holes.
