Engine - Thinking About Fuel Delivery

November 19, 2020 3.0 hours Engine Plan Planning Jeremy, Samantha

The right wing is ready to have the fuel tank installed, but this posed many questions in regards to the fuel system. I am pretty certain that I will be installing either a Viking 130 or a UL Power 350i/iS. Both require a fuel return for fuel injection.

How are we going to route that line? Will rubber hose be OK or do we need something more? How will we access this fitting for inspection/replacement if needed?

After some thought we decided to work with Aircraft Specialty and go with their braided stainless steel fuel hose. At its core is conductive teflon tubing. This hose is more expensive, but I believe it is the safest and it also is an aircraft lifetime install, i.e. no need to replace, unless some damage occurs of course.
