While away in Phoenix, the first batch of Avionics arrived. Samantha and I figured out the crimping tool, stripping wire to the right length, making strong crimps for the DSub connectors used by Garmin avionics, and then made a temporary harness to power on the G3X For the first time.

After successfully powering it on and playing around, we did a software update.
