Avionics - Wiring Under Seat

February 2, 2021 4.5 hours Avionics Building Jeremy, Samantha

Thought quite a bit about how to pass wires through the cabin area. My original thinking was through the center channel but I just didn’t like mixing so much wires with the primary flight controls. The chance of something getting loose and binding the controls was more than I was willing to risk.

I purchased some light weight flexible electrical conduit to channel the wires from the front center of the aircraft under the passenger and pilot seats. In the end, these tubes will be formed/mounted to provide no stress on the wires. They will act to hold the wires in place, guide them and protect them from sharp edges.

We also did some work on where to mount/wire our AHRS unit. It is going in the upper rear of the rear most baggage wall. This will provide a good, central, flat, strong location with easy access to the static system.
